Friends of Ren Xue is a U.S. 501(c)(3) private foundation established in 2019 to support the development and responsible expansion of Ren Xue worldwide. We invest in the people, organizations, knowledge resources, and new initiatives that can help make wisdom and inner development more accessible — and more relevant to the challenges of contemporary life.
Friends of Ren Xue was created to support the development of Ren Xue internationally. Our role has evolved as the global Ren Xue community has grown.
We provide grants to independent Ren Xue organizations, collaborate with organizations on shared projects, and undertake selected initiatives directly when an opportunity crosses organizational or geographic boundaries.
Increasingly, we are also helping explore how the knowledge and human capacity developed within Ren Xue might contribute in new areas, including education, research, and artificial intelligence.
We see our role as both steward and catalyst: strengthening what exists while helping create the conditions for what might come next.
Ren Xue is a comprehensive system of teachings and practices created by Yuan Tze to help people improve health and wellbeing, understand themselves more deeply, transform unhealthy patterns, develop healthier relationships, and cultivate wisdom.
The name Ren Xue can be translated as “the study of human life.”
Rather than addressing individual aspects of life in isolation, Ren Xue approaches the human being as an interconnected whole. Its methods combine practical approaches to health and wellbeing with systematic exploration of consciousness, patterns of thought and behavior, relationships, personal development, and wisdom.
At its heart is the understanding that meaningful change in the world begins with meaningful change in human beings.

This principle expresses both the personal and social dimensions of Ren Xue: developing ourselves not as an end in itself, but as part of creating healthier relationships, communities, and societies.
Ren Xue is seeking partners, researchers, and donors as we embark on an exciting, global initiative — the Ren Xue Education program.
This initiative is anchored in 14 global non-profit organizations and supported by more than 600 credentialed teachers, thousands of practitioners, a Language Model housing the Ren Xue corpus, and a living, engaged founder.
The project offers an innovative education model that addresses all stages of life and all aspects of life (body and Qi; mind and heart) in a non-hierarchical learning environment where students, parents, and teachers grow together.
Friends of Ren Xue is one participant within this larger ecosystem — not at the top of a hierarchy.
Independent organizations are often best positioned to understand and serve their own communities. But some opportunities are larger than any one organization.
Global educational resources, technology infrastructure, research partnerships, international collaboration, and emerging initiatives can require shared investment and a perspective that crosses organizational and geographic boundaries.
Our aim is to support local initiative while investing in resources and opportunities that can strengthen the wider ecosystem.
Where an initiative can serve people broadly, we seek to make it globally accessible. Where language, culture, law, or local circumstances require adaptation, we respect those differences.
Friends of Ren Xue is a U.S. 501(c)(3) private foundation governed by an independent Board of Directors. We are committed to responsible governance, appropriate oversight of grants and projects, financial transparency, and careful stewardship of the resources entrusted to us.
Ren Xue began with a fundamental question: how can human beings develop in ways that lead to healthier, more meaningful, and wiser lives? Friends of Ren Xue exists to help that inquiry reach further across countries, communities, disciplines, and new areas of application.
